Interior Effects: Furniture in Contemporary Art
Interior Effects: Furniture in Contemporary Art
As Fitchburg Art Museum’s marketing and graphic design intern, I designed the word mark for their fall 2018 exhibition, Interior Effects: Furniture in Contemporary Art. This logo was made into a large vinyl decal and attached to the outer wall of the gallery where the exhibition was displayed. Fitchburg Art Museum’s Curatorial department was my primary client for this project.
Interior Effects Exhibition Catalog
I worked as part of a team of students tasked with designing the exhibition catalog for Interior Effects. For this project, Fitchburg Art Museum’s Curatorial department was also the client. This was one of the most challenging and rewarding projects of my career. The Interior Effects exhibition pushed the viewer to think about furniture from a different perspective, exploring metaphorical aspects of its design and how people interact with it regularly. This was a great opportunity to work with abstract concepts in the more concrete terms of catalog design. I loved being able to draw the viewer’s attention to details that might have gone overlooked when physically visiting the exhibition.
